dtrace update -- xcall interim

I hope I have this fixed - am just trying to prove the quality of the
implementation. I'll write up the experimentation and results another
day when I have time.

I have implemented my own interprocess function call interrupt because
the Linux one isnt viable from within an interrupt routine.
